I LIKE TO DRAW

Cartoons

I've always wanted to tell stories. When my kids were young I would entertain them with the often long-winding missteps of a slightly dysfunctional family I called the "Mugwumps." On stage, as a speaker, I organized all my presentations around the stories I would tell. I knew if I could get an audience laughing they might be ready to also learn.

And I liked to draw. In meetings, I would fill note pages with doodles as memory aids of what was said. I did the same in my journals to bookmark events in the day.

During the Pandemic I challenged myself to scratch out one cartoon-like drawing every day over my morning coffee. A couple of years later I took that ritual into the digital world, learning how to create illustrations on a tablet.

I'm (still) a rank amateur, but I'm having fun making this stuff. I hope you have as much fun reading them.
